Mobile game app development for iOS & Android.

End-to-end mobile game development from a Greater Philadelphia indie studio. Concept, mechanics, UI/UX, build, and shipped release — designed to feel good on small screens and built to keep iterating after launch.

What this service covers

Nykylo Media builds mobile games end-to-end. We're a small, hands-on studio focused on iOS and Android puzzle and casual titles — the kind of game that lives on someone's phone for years because the loop is good and the visuals are clean. Recent shipped work includes Sudoku Color (iOS & Android) and Color Pair (iOS).

Phases of a typical engagement

Phase 1 — Scoping (1–2 weeks). We pin down the core loop, the platform(s), the rough art direction and the smallest version that's worth shipping. Output is a one-page brief, a wireframed flow, and a realistic timeline.

Phase 2 — Build (6–12 weeks). Mechanics, UI/UX, art and audio in parallel. We share playable builds early and often instead of polishing in private. We prefer Unity for cross-platform builds; Unreal or native depending on the project.

Phase 3 — Ship (1–2 weeks). Store submission, App Store / Play Store listing copy, screenshots, App Store keyword research, privacy and rating filings.

Phase 4 — Iterate (ongoing). Once analytics is live (often via our data infrastructure service), we iterate on the actual user behavior — not opinions.

What we're good at

  • Mobile-first game design. Loops that work in 60 seconds, scale to 30 minutes, and don't punish a one-handed grip.
  • Color, contrast and visual systems. Game UIs that are readable, accessible and feel made on purpose.
  • Shipping. Both store submissions, both rejection cycles, both review processes — we've been through them and we ship.
  • Right-sizing. No 200-page GDDs, no theatre. We target the smallest playable version first, then expand.

What we're not

We're not a 50-person AAA studio and we don't pretend to be. We won't take on competitive multiplayer infrastructure, console-first projects, or massive live-service games with daily content drops as the core requirement. If that's what you need, we'll happily point you at someone who does it well.

Mobile game development — common questions

What kinds of mobile games does Nykylo Media build?
Primarily puzzle and casual mobile games for iOS and Android — color, logic and short-session play. Brain-training, accessible-leaning UIs, mobile-first feel.
How long does a typical project take?
Most builds ship a first store submission in 8–16 weeks. Larger or more art-heavy games run longer; small refinements ship in 2–4 weeks.
Do you build for both iOS and Android?
Yes. Most projects target both. Some titles ship iOS-first when the audience or testing strategy calls for it (e.g. Color Pair).
Can you take a half-finished prototype across the line?
Often, yes — we'll start with a short audit to understand what's salvageable and what needs to be rewritten before quoting.
