About · Greater Philadelphia studio

A small mobile game studio built to keep shipping.

Nykylo Media is an independent gaming app studio in Greater Philadelphia. We design and build mobile games for iOS and Android — and the data, content and operational infrastructure that lets a small team ship them consistently.

What we do

Nykylo Media is led by Darren and operates as a deliberately small studio. Most of what we ship is a mobile game — most recently Sudoku Color on iOS and Android, and Color Pair on iOS. The rest of what we do exists to make those games easier to ship: lightweight analytics so we can see what's working, asset and release pipelines that don't drown a one-or-two-person team, and recruiting/onboarding media if and when we bring in collaborators.

Why "infrastructure" for a game studio

Most indie studios stall not because the game isn't fun, but because the work around the game — the analytics stack, the release process, the pipeline for new art and copy — never gets built. It stays manual. It stays painful. So shipping slows down or stops.

Our pitch is the opposite: invest a little in the systems early, and a small studio can keep shipping for years. That's why our three service lines are mobile game development, game data & analytics, and studio operations — they're the same problem from three angles.

Where we work

Nykylo Media is based in Greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We work primarily with collaborators across the United States and ship to global App Store and Google Play audiences. If you're a Philly-area studio, founder, or operator and want to compare notes, we're easy to reach.

How we work

  • Small team, direct contact. No account managers; you talk to the people building the thing.
  • Ship something quickly. A first playable, a first dashboard, a first onboarding clip — within weeks, not quarters.
  • Iterate from real data. Once it ships, the analytics tell us what to do next instead of opinions.
  • Operate in public. We share what we learn on the blog when it's useful to other small studios.
